Rein.Hart ignites Rave-Pop with Rave und Ekstase
This is not a song. This is an alarm for your dancefloor. Hands up, bass to the max – repeat button crashing guaranteed.
From Military to Rave: The Sand Dunes as a Dancefloor
A central filming location of the video is the sand dunes of the former French military training area in Heiligensee before the fall of the Wall. Where military discipline once reigned, ecstatic dancing takes over this time. This contrast – strict order versus unbridled freedom – creates the visual and emotional impact of the video.
From Industrial Site to Party Mecca: RAW-Gelände
The RAW-Gelände in Berlin-Friedrichshain was originally a Reichsbahn repair workshop and later an important GDR maintenance site. After the reunification, the area fell into disrepair, until it became a cultural playground in the 2000s. Today, it is a hotspot for clubs, concerts, and street art, a melting pot of subculture and international events.
Amidst this urban chaos of graffiti, concrete, and party vibes, scenes for the Rave und Ekstase video were filmed. The RAW-Gelände provides not only the backdrop but also amplifies the raw energy that Rein.Hart unleashes with his sound.
Between Wall Art & Mass Raves: East Side Gallery
The East Side Gallery in the video is more than just a setting: it symbolizes the break and at the same time the artistic reunification. Once part of the Berlin Wall, this painted section was protected as a historic monument in 1991. A visible symbol of Berlin’s transformative freedom.
Just weeks after the Wall fell, Berlin’s dance floors exploded: in abandoned buildings, ruins, and bunkers, people from East and West met to dance to techno beats, creating a new club culture – the first collective liberation after decades of separation.
From Border to Bass: Oberbaum Bridge
Built in 1896, the Oberbaum Bridge was for decades a symbol of division. During the GDR era, it served as a heavily guarded border crossing between East and West. After reunification, it became a landmark of Berlin’s unity and is now one of the city’s most iconic structures. With its almost fairytale-like towers, located in vibrant Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, it is firmly part of the global club culture.
In the Rave und Ekstase video, the Oberbaum Bridge appears in the background, carrying a clear message: where barriers once stood, the bass now pulses. From a place of separation to a stage for ecstasy and Rave-Pop.
Memories at the Border Crossing: Heiligensee in the Beat
The motorway bridge in Berlin-Heiligensee lies next to the former Stolpe border crossing, one of the key checkpoints between West Berlin and the GDR. Until 1989, thousands of people crossed here daily – Trabis and Wartburgs rolling past under the watch of barriers and border guards.
For the Rave und Ekstase video, the bridge became a backdrop – not only for its historical symbolism but also for a personal memory: a quarter of a century ago, Rein.Hart himself stood on this spot, waving to neighbors from the East as they drove their small cars into the West. That gesture of greeting now appears in the video – an echo of history, transformed into a vision of rave, joy, and boundless energy.
Berlin, History, and Rave-Pop: A Manifesto
From the sand dunes of the former French military training area to the East Side Gallery, RAW-Gelände, Oberbaum Bridge, and the Heiligensee motorway bridge, the Rave und Ekstase video weaves a visual network full of history, energy, and personal memories.
Together, these locations form the heart of the video: history, city, personal stories, and Rein.Hart’s unmistakable sound merge into a pure overdose of ecstasy. Rave-Pop is not just music – it’s a manifesto: loud, free, boundless.
